South 22nd Street was originally named Page Street.[1][2][3][4][5]
The street was renamed 22nd Street by an East Birmingham borough ordinance in 1869.[6] The "South" prefix was added by a Pittsburgh city ordinance in 1881;[7] see South First Street for more details.
