This alley appears, unlabeled, in the 1872 Hopkins atlas.[1] It is listed as Zodiac Alley in an 1881 ordinance that established the names of all streets in Pittsburgh.[2] It became Zodiac Way in 1914 when another ordinance changed all alleys in the city to ways.[3]
Bob Regan includes "Zodiac" in a list of astronomy-related street names.[4]
