Inez Way
The western part of this alley, from Burchfield Avenue to Shady Avenue, was laid out in 1893 in the Midway plan, and the eastern part, from Ikon Way to Isle Way, was laid out in 1901 in the Squirrel Hill plan, though neither of these plans gave these alleys names.[1][2] The eastern portion was named Inez Alley by 1906, when a city ordinance established its grade;[3] it became Inez Way in 1914, when another ordinance changed all alleys in Pittsburgh to ways.[4] The western portion became part of Inez Way in 1916.[5]
Inez Way is one of a set of alleys in the district bounded by Morrowfield Avenue, Beechwood Boulevard, Monitor Street, and Murray Avenue whose names begin with the letter I: the others are Ibsen Way, Ikon Way, Ira Way, and Isle Way.
