Duffield Street

This street was first laid out in 1874 in a plan of lots by John H. Sawyer, though that plan did not give it a name.[1] It was named Elgin Street by 1881.[2][3]
In 1892, John Fite laid out his Luella Place plan in nearby Highland Park, which included a different street named Elgin Avenue.[4] To fix the duplication of the name Elgin, Elgin Street was renamed Duffield Street in 1906.[5] Elgin Avenue became today's Elgin Street in 1910.[6]
