Origin of name Monticello, the estate of Thomas Jefferson

Monticello Street was laid out by James Kelly, who once owned much of the land that became the neighborhood of Homewood.[1][2][3] It is named for Monticello, the estate of Thomas Jefferson outside Charlottesville, Virginia. Nearby Hermitage Street and Mount Vernon Street are also named for presidential estates.
