Engstler Street

From Pittsburgh Streets

Not to be confused with Englert Street in Overbrook.

Engstler Street
Neighborhood St. Clair
Origin of name Engstler family

This street was laid out in 1890 in a partition of the Engstler estate, though that plan did not give it a name.[1] It was named Engstler Street by 1913, when a St. Clair borough ordinance was enacted authorizing its widening and opening.[2] The 1872 Hopkins atlas shows that "Mrs. Engslar" owned land here at that time.[3]

St. Clair Borough, including Engstler Street, was annexed by Pittsburgh in 1923,[4] and Engstler Street was officially established as a Pittsburgh street name later that year.[5]
