Dahlem Way

From Pittsburgh Streets
Dahlem Way
Neighborhood East Liberty
Origin of name Jacob Dahlem
Fate Vacated in 1971

Dahlem Way formerly ran eastward from Hamilton Avenue, when that avenue extended further west than it does today; Dahlem Way was parallel to and south of Frankstown Avenue. Today the former Dahlem Way is approximately the route of Broad Street between Enright Court and East Liberty Boulevard.

It was named for Jacob Dahlem, a landowner here in the 1800s.[1] Later Dahlem Street and Dahlem Place were also named for Dahlem.

Dahlem Way was opened by a city ordinance in 1921[2] and vacated by another ordinance in 1971.[3]
