Kemper Street
From Pittsburgh Streets
Kemper Street | |
---|---|
Neighborhood | Squirrel Hill South |
Kenwood Street (until 1910) |
This street was laid out as Kenwood Street in 1903 in the Boulevard plan.[1]
In 1910, three years after Allegheny City was annexed by Pittsburgh,[2] over 900 streets were renamed to fix duplicates. Kenwood Street was changed to Kemper Street to avoid confusion with Kenwood Avenue in Perry South.[3]
