Junilla Street

From Pittsburgh Streets
Junilla Street
Neighborhoods Bedford Dwellings, Middle Hill
Jones Street (until 1881)
Origin of name E. P. Jones

The portion of this street between Wylie Avenue and Webster Avenue was laid out as Jones Street in 1871 in a plan of lots by E. P. Jones and Charles Jeremy.[1]

In 1881, many streets were renamed in order to fix duplicates. Jones and Jeremy, along with John D. Scully, had laid out another plan to the north that included a Jones Avenue (today part of Brereton Street), so to avoid confusion Jones Street was renamed Junilla Street.[2]
