The 1890 Hopkins atlas shows a small plan of lots on Brunot Island, laid out by F. Briggs, consisting of five named streets and three unnamed alleys.[1] These are the only streets to have ever been laid out on the island, to the best of my knowledge.
The southwesternmost street in the plan was Front Street, named for its location at the "front" of the plan along the bank of the south channel of the Ohio River.[1] The other streets in the plan were Allequippa Street, Brunot Street, Jerome Street, and Water Street.
All of the streets in Briggs' plan disappeared by 1902, replaced by a one-mile racetrack belonging to the Matinee Club of Pittsburgh and Allegheny.[2]
