Fredericka Street is mentioned in the minutes of the Pittsburgh Select Council on December 31, 1883, when a petition was presented "for the locating of Fredericka street, between Penn avenue and Friendship avenue."[1]
The street appears in William Duckham's plan of lots, laid out in March 1892.[2]
