This street was laid out in 1903 in the Grandview plan by Clifford B. Harmon. Harmon named it Curtin Avenue even though it was somewhat offset from Curtin Avenue in Beltzhoover.[1]
It was changed to Craighead Street by a city ordinance in 1910.[2]
