Clanton Street

Clanton Street
Neighborhood Bon Air
Bon Air Avenue (until 1941)

This street was laid out in 1900 in the Bon-Air plan of lots as part of Bon Air Avenue, which originally took a crooked path from the Pittsburg & Castle Shannon Railroad (today the T tracks) up modern Clanton Street, Institute Street, and Roseton Avenue to the western end of modern Bon Air Avenue and then along the course of that avenue.[1]

Bon Air Avenue was shortened in 1941: portions were added to Roseton Avenue and Institute Street, and the southernmost part was renamed Clanton Street.[2]
