This street was laid out as Sanford Avenue in the 1907 Shady Avenue plan and the 1908 Hallett Shady Avenue plan.[1][2] It was renamed Sherbrook Street by a city ordinance in 1911 to fix the duplication with Sanford Street in Esplen.[3]
