Rolfe Street

From Pittsburgh Streets
Rolfe Street
Neighborhood East Hills
Race Street (until 1906)

This street was laid out as Race Street in 1892 in Peter D. and Mary E. Perchment's addition to the Borough of Brushton.[1]

After today's East Hills neighborhood was annexed by Pittsburgh in 1906,[2] the name Race Street conflicted with Race Street in Homewood North. This duplication was fixed by a city ordinance later that year, which renamed this street Rolfe Street.[3]
