Eymard Street

From Pittsburgh Streets
Eymard Street
Neighborhood East Hills
Origin of name Peter Julian Eymard

Eymard Street was laid out by Augustus P. Black in December 1919 in the Marian Place plan.[1] Black was a Catholic priest who served as the pastor of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church on Frankstown Avenue for more than 44 years.[2][3] The street name likely honors Peter Julian Eymard (1811–1868), the founder of two Catholic congregations, the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament for men and the Servants of the Blessed Sacrament for women.
