Elite Way

From Pittsburgh Streets
Elite Way
Neighborhood Bon Air

Elite Way runs south from Roseton Avenue, between and parallel to Institute Street and Fordyce Street. It was laid out in 1900 in the Bon-Air plan, though that plan did not give it a name.[1] It is not mentioned in a 1909 Pittsburgh city ordinance that established the names of streets and alleys in the former West Liberty Borough,[2] nor is it listed in another ordinance the following year that established the names of all thoroughfares in the city.[3]

A street sign at its intersection with Roseton Avenue says that it is named Elite Way. It had this name by 1959, when a petition was made to City Council for "the grading and improving of Elite Way from Roseton Street to Calle Street, 18th Ward."[4]
