Delphas Place (1910–1948) |
Dunmoyle Place was laid out in 1905 by Cadwallader Evans.[1] It is named for its location near Dunmoyle Street.
Dunmoyle Place was renamed Delphas Place in 1910[2][3] (although the immediately following ordinance, officially establishing the names of all thoroughfares in Pittsburgh, spelled it Dalphas).[4] When a street sign reading "Delphas Place" was installed in 1948, residents complained that they had always called it Dunmoyle Place,[5] and the city quickly changed the name back.[6]
