Highfield Road (until 1911) |
This road was laid out as Highfield Road in 1908 in the Highfield plan, on the former property of Alexander Chambers.[1][2] The plan shows the Chambers mansion at the north end of the road and appears to label it "Highfield."[1] I cannot find confirmation that this was the name of the mansion, but if so, that must be the source of the road name.
Highfield Road was renamed Devon Road by a city ordinance in 1911.[3]
