Buena Vista Street is named for the Battle of Buena Vista, fought in 1847 during the Mexican–American War.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10]
On the other hand, a 1936 article in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette says that the street is named after Buena Vista, the riverside home of General William Robinson, eponym of General Robinson Street.[11]
