Liberty Street (until 1881)
Portion East of Shetland Street
Arch Street (until 1881)

Armand Street (1881 – ca. 1900)

The easternmost part of this street was laid out as Liberty Street in a plan of lots for the East Liberty Bauverein (Building Association), recorded in 1866.[1][2]

The westernmost part was laid out as Arch Street in 1872 in a plan of lots by Thomas Mellon.[3]

In 1881, a Pittsburgh city ordinance renamed many streets to fix duplicates. Liberty Street was renamed Lenora Street to avoid confusion with Liberty Avenue, and Arch Street was renamed Armand Street to fix the duplication with Arch Street on the north side of the Hill District (see Arcena Street).[4]

Armand Street was made part of Lenora Street by 1900.[5]
