Venus Alley is listed in an 1881 ordinance that established the names of all streets in the city of Pittsburgh.[1] The 1890 Hopkins atlas somewhat optimistically labeled it Venus Street.[2] It became Venus Way in 1914 when an ordinance changed all alleys in the city to ways.[3]
Bob Regan includes "Venus" in a list of astronomy-related street names.[4]
