This street was laid out as Annetta Street in 1891 in the Dean Park plan of lots by E. W. Dean.[1] The spelling was changed, perhaps inadvertently, to Anneta Street by a 1910 city ordinance that officially established the names of all streets in Pittsburgh.[2] Anneta Street was renamed Navarro Street in 1925.[3]
