Poplar Way

Poplar Way
Neighborhood Esplen
Poplar Alley (until 1914)

This alley was laid out in 1883 in a plan of lots by Thomas H. Hunter, though that plan did not give it a name.[1] It was named Poplar Alley by an Esplen borough ordinance in 1893.[2]

Esplen Borough was annexed by Pittsburgh in 1906.[3] Poplar Alley became Poplar Way in 1914, when a city ordinance changed all alleys in Pittsburgh to ways.[4]
