This street was laid out as Mary Street in 1900 in the Bandi Farm plan of lots by Frank I. Gosser.[1] It was renamed Day Avenue by a West Liberty Borough ordinance in 1907.[2] West Liberty Borough was annexed by Pittsburgh in 1908,[3] and the following year a Pittsburgh city ordinance changed the name again to Drycove Street.[4]
