Ensign Avenue

From Pittsburgh Streets
Ensign Avenue
Neighborhood Bon Air
Elin Street (until 1907)

This street was laid out in 1890 in the Zimmerman Park plan of lots, though that plan did not give it a name.[1][2][3]

At some point it was given the name Elin Street. In 1907, a West Liberty Borough ordinance renamed it Ensign Avenue.[4]

West Liberty Borough, including this street, was annexed by Pittsburgh in 1908.[5]
