Roosevelt Avenue

From Pittsburgh Streets
Roosevelt Avenue
Neighborhood Perry North
Origin of name Probably Theodore Roosevelt

Roosevelt Avenue appears in the 1902 Hopkins atlas.[1]

Bob Regan includes "Roosevelt" in a list of streets named for noted historical people, but unfortunately he gives no further details.[2] Since the street was laid out in the first years of the 20th century, it is likely that it was named for Theodore Roosevelt (1858–1919), 26th President of the United States from 1901 to 1909.
