1937-11 or 1938-04-20: Source:Hillsview-terrace-plan first laid out a portion of Hillsview Street in Green Tree Borough.

1950-12: Source:Green-tree-manor-plan-3 laid out the north end of Hillsview Street in Green Tree Borough.

1953-10: Source:Green-tree-manor-plan-4 extended the north segment of Hillsview Street to the Pittsburgh city line.

1954-05: Source:Parkway-manor-plan laid out the portion of Hillsview Street within Pittsburgh city limits.

1955-06-13: Source:Municipal-record-1955, p. 260: "Also ¶ No. 2811. Petition from residents of Hillsview Street, 20th Ward, requesting that the name of this street be changed to Oriole Drive. ¶ Which were read and referred to the Committee on Public Service and Surveys."

1955-06-27: Source:Municipal-record-1955, p. 280: "Mr. Jones presented ¶ No. 2884. An Ordinance changing the names of Hillsview Street and Oriole Way in the City of Pittsburgh. ¶ Which was read and refrred [sic] to the Committee on Public Service and Surveys."

1955-07-12: Source:Municipal-record-1955, p. 304: "Also ¶ Bill No. 2884 An Ordinance entitled, 'An Ordinance changing the names of Hillsview Street and Oriole Way in the City of Pittsburgh'. ¶ Which was read. ¶ Mr. Jones moved ¶ A suspension of the rule to allow the second and third readings and final passage of the bills. ¶ Which motion prevailed. ¶ And the bills were read a second time and agreed to. ¶ And the bills were read a third time and agreed to. ¶ And the titles of the bills were read and agreed to. ¶ And on the question, 'Shall the bills pass finally?' ¶ The ayes and noes were taken, agreeably to law, and were: ¶ Ayes:—Messrs. Fagan, Jones, Rodgers, Schifano, Weir, Wolk, Gallagher (Pres't) ¶ Ayes 7. Noes none. ¶ And a majority of the votes of Council being in the affirmative, the bills passed finally."

1955-07-15: Source:Ordinance-1955-262 changed Hillsview Street to Oriole Drive (and Oriole Way in Garfield to Oil Way).

1958-07: Source:Green-tree-manor-plan-5 extended Hillsview Street southerly to Rosegarden Road.
