Dalzell Place

From Pittsburgh Streets
Dalzell Place
Neighborhood Squirrel Hill North
Origin of name Maybe John Dalzell

This street was laid out in 1892 in the Prospect plan.[1] That plan labeled it "Dalzell Ave.," but it was called Dalzell Place in a newspaper advertisement for lots in the plan the following month.[2]

It may be named for John Dalzell (1845–1927), a Republican politician who represented Pittsburgh in the U. S. House of Representatives from 1887 to 1913.
