Beechwood Place was laid out in 1950 in the Beechwood Gardens Apartments plan.[1] It is named for its location off Beechwood Boulevard.

Beechwood Place replaced Beechwood Drive, an oval that had been laid out on paper in 1948 in the Beechwood Drive development.[2]
