Origin of name John Bandi

This street was laid out as Bandi Street in 1900 in the Bon-Air plan of lots.[1] It is named for John Bandi, who formerly owned the land that makes up the modern neighborhood of Bon Air.[2][3]

West Liberty Borough was annexed by Pittsburgh in 1908,[4] and the following year a Pittsburgh city ordinance officially changed the name to Bandi Avenue.[5]
