At a meeting of the surveys committee of Pittsburgh councils yesterday afternoon an ordinance authorizing the vacation of Iron alley, from Second avenue to Greenough street, was referred to a special committee. A remonstrance has been filed against it and there is some dispute as to whether the signers are abutting property-owners.
The committee affirmatively recommended the following ordinances: Authorizing the vacation of Albatross alley, from Pacific avenue to Rebecca street; establishing the grade on Tustin street, from Seneca to Jumonville streets; of Kearns street, from McCartney street to the city line; of Elysian street, from Fifth avenue to Hastings street; of Flowers avenue, from Folsom street to Calvary cemetery; of Kincaid street, from Evaline street to Mathilda; of Butler, from angle west of Haights run bridge to east of Sixty-second street; authorizing the vacation of Banner alley, from right of way of Allegheny Valley railroad to the low water mark of the Allegheny river; of Silman alley, from Bryant street to Albree alley; repealing an ordinance authorizing the vacation of Clement alley, from Fortieth street to twelve feet east; repealing an ordinance locating Cora street, from Tioga street to Pennsylvania railroad so far as relates to that portion between Maderia street and the Pennsylvania railroad; changing the name of Woolslayer alley, between Denny street and Friendship avenue, to Woolslayer street; locating Brady street, from East Carson to Wharton street; relocating Selma street, from Rippey to Margaretta streets.
