STREET CLOSED.
An Iron Firm Charged With Obstructing the Highway.

On the advice of Superintendent of Highways Samuel T. Paisley J. W. Tygard yesterday entered suit before Alderman Toole against H. Lloyd, Sons & Co., charging them with obstructing the highway. Mr. Tygard owns the premises occupied by the Penn Basket Company's works, 700 and 702 Second avenue. H. Lloyd, Sons & Co. are owners of the Pipetown mills, located in Iron alley, which runs from Second avenue to Greenough street. It is claimed the defendants have put a strong board fence across Iron alley and a gate, which is kept locked, across Greenough street, just back of the basket works, and that the basket company cannot get out from the rear of its works without coming down to Try street, a distance of two blocks.

The defendants have been notified several times by Supt. Paisley to remove the obstructions but have failed to do so. The case will likely be carried into court.
