AN ORDINANCE—ACCEPTING the dedication of certain property in the Fourteenth Ward of the City of Pittsburgh for public use for highway purposes, opening and naming the same "Normlee Place" and accepting the grading, paving, curbing and sewering thereof.

Whereas, Nathan Holstein and Lillian s. Holstein, his wife; Launa T. Eckstein, widow; Dora Lowy, widow; Charles V. Boring, widower; Julia E. Tomlinson (formerly Julie E. Boring), and Charles A. Tomlinson, her husband; Mary Vance (formerly Mary Boring), and Henry N. Vance, her husband; David Rothman and Florence V. Rothman, his wife; Max Fischman and Ruth Fischman, his wife; J. B. Schwartz and Belle L. Schwartz, his wife; Taube Siegle, widow; Walter J. Staley and Goldie N. Staley, his wife; Arthur Friedman and Rose L. Friedman, his wife; Manuel Charie, unmarried; Marshall Solomon and Lillian P. Solomon, his wife; Herman Roth, Potter Title and Trust Company, a corporation, Guardian of the Estate of Rose N. Roth, (wife of Herman Roth), an alleged insane person; Normlee Realty Corporation; and Margert Lins, unmarried, the owners of the property hereinafter described, have executed and delivered to the City of Pittsburgh, their certain deed of dedication bearing date of January 10, 1947, now on file in the Bureau of Engineering of said City wherein they have conveyed said ground to said city for public highway purposes, and

Whereas, the said Normlee Realty Corporation has graded, paved, curbed, and sewered the street dedicated in the said deed of dedication, from Forbes street to the northeasterly terminus, at its own cost and expense, and

Whereas, it is desired that the City of Pittsburgh accept said improvement as a part of the City's system of improved highways; Therefore,

The Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1. That the said deed of dedication shall be and the same is hereby accepted and the Bureau of Engineering is hereby authorized and directed to place the same on record in the Office of the Recorder of Deeds in and for the County of Allegheny.

Section 2. The ground, so as aforesaid conveyed to said City for public highway purposes, shall be and the same is hereby appropriated and opened as a public highway in accordance with the terms of said deed of dedication and shall be known as "Normlee Place," the same being bounded and described as follows, to-wit:

BEGINNING on the northerly line of Forbes street at a point distant North 32° 18′ West, 543.29 feet from the northerly line of Plainfield street; thence extending along the northeasterly line of Forbes street North 32° 18′ West, 40.0 feet; thence North 57° 42′ East, 206.28 feet; thence by the arc of a circle deflecting to the right, with a radius of 35.0 feet, a central angle of 97° 58′ 30″ and a chord bearing North 51° 32′ 40″ East, for an arc distance of 59.85 feet; thence North 57° 42′ East, 25.23 feet; thence South 32° 18′ East, 51.33 feet; thence South 57° 42′ West 25.23 feet; thence by thea rc [sic] of a circle deflecting to the right, with a radius of 35.0 feet, a central angle of 97° 58′ 30″ and a chord bearing South 63° 51′ 20″ West, for an arc distance of 59.85 feet; thence South 57° 42′ West 206.28 feet to Forbes street, at the place of beginning.

Section 3. The grading, paving, curbing and sewering of said Normlee place, from Forbes street to the northeasterly terminus shall be and the same is hereby accepted and declared to be a public improvement of the City of Pittsburgh.

Section 4. The Department of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to enter upon, take possession of, and appropriate the said described ground for a public highway and directed to treat the said land as other improved highways of the said City, in conformity with the provisions of this Ordinance.

Section 5. That any Ordinance or part of Ordinance, conflicting with the provisions of this Ordinance, be and the same is hereby repealed so far as the same affects this Ordinance.
