AN ORDINANCE

Changing the Names of Streets.

Section 1. Be it ordained and enacted by the City of Pittsburgh, in Select and Common Councils assembled, and it is hereby ordained and enacted by the authority of the same, That the Names of various Streets be changed as follows:

Point street be called First street.

Duquesne street, be called Second street.

Marbury street be called Third street.

Hay street be called Fourth street.

Pitt street be called Fifth street.

St. Clair street be called Sixth street.

Irwin street be called Seventh street.

Hancock street be called Eighth street.

Hand street be called Ninth street.

Wayne street be called Tenth street.

Canal street be called Eleventh street.

O'Hara street be called Twelfth street.

Walnut street be called Thirteenth street.

Factory street be called Fourteenth street.

Adams street be called Fifteenth street.

Mechanics street be called Sixteenth street.

Harrison street be called Seventeenth street.

Pine street be called Eighteenth street.

Locust street be called Nineteenth street.

Carson street be called Twentieth street.

Allegheny street be called Twenty-first street.

Lumber street be called Twenty-second street.

Carroll street be called Twenty-third street.

Wilkins street be called Twenty-fourth street.

Baldwin street be called Twenty-fifth street.

Morris street be called Twenty-sixth street.

Rush street be called Twenty-seventh street.

Morton street be called Twenty-eighth street.

Clymer street be called Twenty-ninth street.

Smith street be called Thirtieth street.

Taylor street be called Thirty-first street.

Wilson street be called Thirty-second street.

Boundary be called Thirty-third street.

Johnson street be called Thirty-fourth street.

Lawrence street be called Thirty-fifth street.

Wainwright street be called Thirty-sixth street.

Dravo street be called Thirty-seventh street.

Allen street be called Thirty-eighth street.

Pike street be called Thirty-ninth street.

Covington street be called Fortieth street.

Fisk street be called Forty-first street.

Borough street be called Forty-second street.

Chestnut street be called Forty-third street.

Ewalt street be called Forty-fourth street.

Bellfontaine street be called Forty-fifth street.

St. Marys avenue be called Forty-sixth street.

Church street be called Forty-sevedth [sic] street.

Shoenberger street be called Forty-eighth street.

Mill street be called Forty-ninth street.

Lothrop street be called Fiftieth street.

Jackson street be called Fifty-first street.

First street be called First avenue.

Second street be called Second avenue.

Third street be called Third avenue.

Fourth street be called Fourth avenue.

Fifth street, Fifth street Extension and Pennsylvania avenue be called Fifth avenue.

Sixth street be called Sixth avenue.

Seventh street be called Seventh avenue.

Butler street, (Ninth ward), be called Railroad street.

Beech alley, (Third ward), be called Hickory alley.

Cherry alley, (Tenth ward), be called Cherry alley.

Decatur street, (Seventh ward), be called Hazel st.

Fisk street, (Seventh ward), be called Arch street.

Mulberry alley, (Lawrenceville), be called Blackberry alley.

Plum alley, (Third ward), be called Oak alley.

Peach alley, (Eighth ward), be called Quince alley.

Reed street, (Lawrenceville), be called Race street.

Spruce alley, (Lawrenceville), be called Hemlock alley.

Union alley, (First ward), be called Ash alley.

Union alley, (Sixth ward), be called State alley.

Webster street be called Webster avenue.

Washington street, (Lawrenceville, west end), be called Willow street.

Washington street, (Lawrenceville, east end), be called Hatfield street.

Old Pennsylvania avenue, from Try street to Fifth avenue be called Old avenue.

Cherry alley, (Lawrenceville), be called Almond alley.

Sec. 2. That any ordinance or part of ordinance conflicting with the passage of this ordinance at the present time, be and the same is hereby repealed so far as the same affects this ordinance.

Ordained and enacted into a law in Councils, this 31st day of August, A. D. 1868.
