"Find 'Beltzhoover' too hard to spell: Residents suggest 'Tulane Ave.' as more suitable name." Pittsburgh Press, Mar. 6, 1930, p. 21. Newspapers.com 141338956.
Beltzhoover Ave., in the South Side, may be changed in name to Tulane Ave., it was indicated in City Council yesterday.
Residents of the vicinity appeared at a hearing and asked the change on the ground that Beltzhoover is too hard to spell, too long and frequently misunderstood.Council instructed City Clerk Clark to report on whether any other city street is called "Tulane." The proposed name is acceptable to council, members said.
