1874-10-13: "Pittsburgh Councils," Pittsburgh Daily Gazette, [p. 4] (Newspapers.com 86345382): "Also, resolution for water pipe on Cresson street. Referred."

  • "Our thoroughfares," Pittsburgh Commercial, [p. 4] (Newspapers.com 85130288): "In the matter of the improvement of Cresson street, the sub-committee reported to sustain the Street Committee in refusing to do anything, and that the City Solicitor be instructed to enter suit against Edward Bailey, a property holder on that thoroughfare, for maintaining the street in front of his premises in an impassable condition."

1879-07-11: "The abortionist's art," Daily Post, [p. 4] (Newspapers.com 87629059): ". . . ; Mrs. Edmund Wilkins Lawton, a widow who lives on Cresson street, between Webster avenue and the railroad, on the brow of the hill above Eighteenth street, . . . ." — This refers to Crescent Street.

1879-08-15: "The Ramsey–Lawton case," Daily Post, [p. 4] (Newspapers.com 87629755): "The sum of her testimony is that on Monday evening, June 30th, Wm. Ramsey took her to the house of Mrs. Lawton on Cresson street."

1888-04-24: "Barely saved their lives," Pittsburg Press, p. 1 (Newspapers.com 141344518): "About 5 o'clock this morning Officer Elmer saw fire bursting from the window of the two-story frame house No. 45 Cresson street. He turned in an alarm from box 156 and then hastened to arouse the sleeping inmates of the house. The building is a double dwelling belonging to John Buckley."

1891-06-19: "Died," Pittsburg Dispatch, p. 6 (Newspapers.com 76223202): "BISCHOFF—On Thursday, June 18, 1891, at 12 midnight, Mary, daughter of C. P. and Mary Louise Bischoff, in her 5th year, at the residence of her parents, Cresson street, Tenth ward, city." — This probably also refers to Crescent Street.
