From Pittsburgh Streets
- p. 71: "After over two years of construction, the McKees Rocks Bridge was dedicated on August 19, 1931."
- p. 72: "Planning for the McKees Rocks Bridge began in 1914, but the project stalled because the War Department required a prohibitive 1,100-foot main span. In 1928, plans for a McKees Rocks crossing were revived when the War Department relaxed span requirements and county commissioners approved a bond to construct major bridges and roads, including Ohio River Boulevard along the Ohio River's north shore. The bridge was incorporated into the boulevard's plan."
