PARK IMPROVEMENT BILLS RECOMMENDED.

The councilmanic committee on parks met yesterday and approved the following ordinances: For the construction of merry-go-rounds or caroussels in Schenley, Riverview and Highland Parks, $5,000 each; bleacher benches for paseball [sic] patrons in Olympic park, $7,600; bleachers in McKinley park, $8,900; to connect Beacon street with the Schenley park driveways, $8,000; for a tennis court in West Park, $1,700; a shelter house in McKinley park, $14,000, and a shelter house at the Schenley park golf links, $10,000.

The Committee on Surveys met at 7:30 p. m. and transacted routine business, approving the grading of many streets. The resolution changing the name of Foxhurst, formerly Franklin street, to Epiphany street, was affirmatively recommended. An ordinance changing the name of Epiphany street, formerly Washington street, to Washington place, is before councils.

The Public Works Committee was called to meet, but there was no quorum, and adjournment was taken until tomorrow at 2:30 p. m.
