Brightridge Street

From Pittsburgh Streets
Brightridge Street
Neighborhood Perry South
Origin of name Modification of earlier name Brighton
Brighton Place (until 1910)
Origin of name Its location off Brighton Road

This street first appears in the 1890 Hopkins atlas as Brighton Place,[1] presumably named for Brighton Road, which it intersects. In 1910, over 900 streets were renamed to eliminate duplication, and Brighton Place was renamed Brightridge Street,[2] probably to avoid confusion with Brighton Road.

In 1934, the name Brighton Place was resurrected for a different street nearby.[3]
