Bailey Avenue is named for John H. Bailey (1830–1897),[1][2] associate judge of the Court of Common Pleas (1877–1887),[3][4][5][6][7] or perhaps the Bailey family generally.[3] Most of this eastern portion of Mount Washington was once the estates of the Bailey family.[3][8]
The intersecting Judicial Street also owes its name to Judge Bailey.[3]
