Edwards Alley (until 1930)

There is a street sign for X Way on Fredanna Street between Cosmos Street and McElhinny Avenue. It is listed in a 1953 street directory and appears on the accompanying map.[1][2] This alley was originally named Edwards Alley. It was changed to X Way by a city ordinance in 1930, the year after Lincoln Place was annexed into the City of Pittsburgh.[3]
