Origin of name George H. Covode

Covode Street is named for George H. Covode (1835–1864), colonel of the 4th Pennsylvania Cavalry in the American Civil War, killed at St. Mary's Church on June 24, 1864. James H. Childs, eponym of Childs Street, was an earlier colonel of the same regiment.[1]
